LONDON — ReVolt Technology Ltd. (Staefa, Switzerland), a startup formed to develop rechargeable zinc-air battery technology, has appointed Adam Laubach as chief technology officer.

Laubach has taken over technology and product development responsibilities from company founder, Trygve Burchardt, who has taken the position of chief scientific officer and will focus on the further development and continued expansion of ReVolt's core technology footprint.

Laubach is described as a "lab-to-fab" specialist, with nine technical product launch engagements to date, ranging from new polymers to electrochemical cells. His 13-year career with Dow Chemical gave him experience in R&D, business development and market management across the microelectronics, automotive, packaging and durable goods industries. During his last three years with Dow, he worked in the advanced electronics materials business and co-led a joint venture with Motorola and Xerox focused on printed electronics.

In 2004 he co-founded and secured venture capital funding for Aveso Displays, a Dow Chemical spin-out, a printed electrochromic display company.

"His skill set is very complementary to the rest of the technical leadership team and will allow the company to begin the transition to commercialization under his leadership," stated James McDougall, CEO of ReVolt Technology, in a statement.
