Winchester, UK - Saft Power Systems is consolidating its former Saft Power Systems and AEG Power Supply Systems activities under a single, global name: AEG Power Solutions.
The company's entire range of industrial power supply systems and solutions, including high reliability UPS systems, industrial chargers and DC systems, power controllers or solar inverters will be marketed worldwide under the AEG Power Solutions brand. The transition to the new name is expected to be complete by year end.
"The choice of AEG Power Solutions as our single, worldwide name crowns three years of efforts to consolidate and reinforce our approach to industrial power markets," said Bruce Brock, President and CEO. "Since its creation more than a century ago, the AEG name has stood for rugged reliability and world-class engineering. We selected it because we want our customers everywhere to know that, now more than ever before, they can rely on us for innovative power solutions that protect their people, their customers, their investments and their business."
The consolidation of the company's industrial power supply and solutions under a single brand follows a parallel global rebranding initiative launched for the company's telecom and power converters portfolio in June, 2008, when the Harmer & Simmons brand was selected for all former Saft Power Systems and AEG telecom power products and services.
Established in 1887, the AEG brand has always stood for continuity in expertise, quality/reliability, and innovation. The AEG and Saft names were brought together in 1998, with the acquisition of AEG SVS Power Supply Systems GmbH, based in Germany, by SAFT Power Systems of France. An aggressive consolidation and globalization program was launched by the company's current senior management team in 2005, following the acquisition of the AEG/Saft Power Systems/Harmer & Simmons activities by Ripplewood Holdings, a respected private equity firm active in the U.S., Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
All of the company's facilities focused on industrial power supplies and solutions will adopt the AEG Power Solutions name, including its major sites in Belecke, Germany and Tours, France, and additional facilities and branch offices in Dubai; Cyprus; Hainault (London), UK; Vitoria, Spain; Zwanenburg, The Netherlands, Dallas, Texas; and Toronto, Canada; Singapore; Hong Kong; Beijing, China and its branch offices.
