Winchester, UK - Leading UK-based uninterruptible power supply system and service provider, Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd. (UPSL) has been acquired by US-based Kohler Co's Global Power Group, a global supplier of engines and power generator systems.
Kohler acquired the Aldermaston-based UPSL from its management and from Barclays Ventures, the lower mid-market private equity house.
Founded in 1996, UPSL provides UPS services, including full pre-sale, installation and commissioning services, flexible maintenance contracts, remote monitoring, and battery care and replacement.
"Bringing UPSL into our Global Power Group is an appropriate extension to our business," said Dick Fotsch, Kohler Global Power Group president. "As we seek to become a full 'systems' supplier in the worldwide power generation market, UPSL's maintenance and service reputation in the UPS category is a strong complement to providing complete power solutions to our customers."
UPSL will become part of the Global Power Group. UPSL co-founder and managing director, David Bond, will continue to lead the company and report to Fotsch. Bond is author of 'The UPS Handbook', a guide to understanding, designing and implementing UPS and power protection systems.
